Elizabeth Lance and Jenny Hall partnered together to provide quality legal representation while creating a positive experience for their clients. Beth and Jenny are committed to serving the people of Wyoming by providing quality counsel and communication with their clients while zealously advocating on their behalf. The attorneys at Lance & Hall practice in the areas of family law, criminal law, juvenile law, and estate planning and have experience in both litigation and appeals.

ELIZABETH LANCE

Beth Lance is the founding partner of Lance & Hall.  Prior to opening her own practice she worked in both the private and public sectors.  Beth previously worked as an associate attorney at Woodhouse Roden Nethercott, LLC, and as a Senior Assistant Public Defender and a Senior Assistant Attorney General for the State of Wyoming.

Beth’s work history has provided her with extensive experience in the courtroom at both trial and appellate court levels.  Her work at the Attorney General’s Office provided her with wide-ranging experience in appellate law, both civil and criminal.  She also gained administrative law experience by representing several state agencies and boards, including the Department of Family Services. 

Beth’s work at the Public Defender’s Office provided her with extensive litigation experience where she averaged 25 court appearances per week on behalf of her clients.  She also gained significant experience in the representation of juveniles accused of crimes.

Beth presently works as a contract attorney for the Guardian ad Litem division at the State of Wyoming where she represents juveniles in abuse/neglect, CHINS and delinquency cases. She frequently fields calls from other attorneys in how to handle juvenile justice matters and has presented multiple continuing legal education courses on the representation of juveniles.

She has a reputation for success winning acquittals at trial on behalf of criminal clients and negotiating favorable outcomes for her clients. Beth’s practice focuses primarily on juvenile law, criminal defense, family, civil litigation, estate planning and appeals.

JENNY HALL

Jenny Hall is an 8th generation Wyomingite that was born and raised in Cheyenne, WY. She is very committed to serving the residents of Wyoming. She graduated from the University of Wyoming College of Law in 2014 and immediately began working in the areas of domestic relations such as divorce, child custody/visitation, and domestic violence.

She also has experience in other areas of civil litigation including employment law, landlord/tenant disputes, medical malpractice and contract law as well as criminal defense.

Jenny was on the legal team that was involved in the Marriage Equality cases Guzzo v. Mead and Courage v. State of Wyoming.

While in law school, Jenny concurrently earned her Master’s in Public Administration, served as Vice President of the Wyoming Trial Lawyers Association, President of the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, and was admitted into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.

TONI E. HARTZEL

Toni E. Hartzel is the firm’s Associate Attorney. After graduating high school in Wyoming in 2006, she decided to attend the United States Military Academy at West Point. Toni then commissioned into the United States Army as a Military Police Officer. She served in the military for six years while also completing her Masters Degree. Following her service, Toni made the decision to return to Wyoming and transition to the legal field. Toni is a 2020 graduate of the University of Wyoming College of Law.

Toni has interned with our firm since January 2020. In addition, she has student experience in both the civil and criminal fields. Toni worked as a Student Attorney in the Civil Legal Services Clinic and the Prosecution Assistance Program while attending UW College of Law. As a student she wrote and argued a brief in front of the Wyoming Supreme Court (Ferch v. State, 2020 WY 37, 459 P.3d 1105 (Wyo. 2020)). Toni is looking forward to serving the Wyoming community.
